Congratulation! Our students achieved 100% passes with top marks (highly commended) in our 2013 NATD Dance Examination. Over 150 Students participated in our once a year dance examination under the N.A.T.D (National Association of Teachers of Dancing, United Kingdom). The N.A.T.D is the finest dance Examination board in the world and we are happy to be associated with it.

Our studio prepared all students for the exam by having extra lessons, practice session & mock test. All our teacher are professional trained to prepare their students for the exam and achieving high standard with good marks. Our next examination will be on Jun 2014.

The NATD Dance Showcase 2012 was a successful event attended by most of the NATD Malaysia members from the top schools in Malaysia.



We have 30 Medallist performances from 1 dance to President Award level. Every dancers put their best in their performance and enjoy themselves very much.

2) Ms Marye Simmons, Examiner of The NATD (London),
3) Mr. Terence Davis, Dance Critic


The panel of judges give each performances comment and points and it help them to perfect their future dancing.

The Examination of NATD Malaysia 2012

Henry Dance Studio, an officially authorized organized for the yearly NATD examination. This year, not only the Latin and Ballroom examination, Hip Hop / Street dance student are also been arranging to be the parts of exam. The exam started from 3:00pm until 11:00pm.

The NATD (London) Teacher Workshop 2011

HENRY DANCE STUDIO greatly organized the N.A.T.D. (London) Teacher Workshop - especially in LATIN, BALLROOM & FREESTYLE dance which held on 23th July 2011, Saturday and 24 July 2011, Sunday. This workshop covers two parts i.e. Lecture, at the first part and Practice at the second part and conducted by the former UK Professional Dance Champion - Mr. Neil Dewar.

NATD Graduation Night Dinner & Dance 2011!

Our annual NATD Graduation Dinner & Dance is well attended by 350 persons. The night is filled with student’s performance, showtime and general dancing.

Our annual event is held for students after the NATD dance examination in July 2011.

It is an annual affair whereby all students and teacher enjoy themself.

The Examination of NATD Malaysia 2011

STUDENTS, time to test yourself! Our students are encouraged to participate the well known dance exam - National Association Teachers Of Dancing (N.A.T.D) exam. The exam date is on 14/7/2011, Monday, started from 1pm until 11pm.

We are pleased to announce that HENRY DANCE STUDIO is the area authorised Organizer to arrange this exam and a number of students are participate to this exam. Students, YOU ARE THE BEST!

We have update some rules & regulation upon comment from members. We also have request from members to include other form of dance competition:

1) Salsa
2) C & W Line Dancing
3) Viennese Waltz

The ideas is good but whether we do have enough participants from all member teachers is something we have to consider. Kindly give me your comments. Keep it coming.

Glad to inform all that I have received positive answer from members and eager to organise the 1st NATD Medallist Competition on 05 July 2009 (1pm - 6pm). Tramaine is checking whether the OCM hall is available on 05 July 2009 and Josephine is arranging the leaflets /poster. If the venue is confirmed, I will inform all members and hope all members can put in some helping hand.

This NATD Medallist Competition will be organised by all members and for members students only. It will be a lot of fun for all students.

We need members to involve in :

1) Submitting as many participants as possible.
2) Selling tickets
3) Judging in the competition (There will be judges allowance)
4) Scrutining the results

We hope we can have participants and supporters throughout Malaysia from Johore to Penang. If members have any suggestion on the competition, kindly call or email to me.

DANCESPORT MEDALLIST COMPETITION 2009
DANCESPORT COMPETITION RULES FOR JUVENILES, JUNIORS, ADULTS, ALL LADIES & OVER 35 EVENT.

1) Entry Conditions

• a) All competitors must be National Medallists and have taken the respective examination during the 18 months prior to this competition.


• b) Any competitor who has been a finalist in National, Commercial or Multi National Championships in the 12 months prior to the Medallist event they wish to compete in will be ineligible to compete.


• c) Competitors can only enter competitions appropriate to the highest grade they have achieved in the National Association.


• d) The age rule is that a Juvenile becomes a Junior on his or her 12th birthday and a Junior becomes and Adult on his or her 18th birthday.


• e) Children may dance in the Rainbow Section for as many years as they wish, until they are 8 years old.

2) Dress

• a) Rainbow & Juvenile. All rainbow & juveniles competitors must wear
  i) Girls – Short Skirt with Top
  ii) Boys – White Shirt with Trousers & Bow / Necktie


• b) Junior and all adult age groups. There are no other dress restrictions except Tail Suits, which are not permitted.
• no sequines is allowed on all clothing for all competitors.

3) Partnering
a) Medallist events

• Competitors must be partnered by Amateur partner only.


• Partnering with more than one person is at the discretion of the School concerned, but pairing with more that two competitors in any one heat is not allowed.

b) Junior / Juveniles Couples events

• Couples can be Boy with Girl or Girl with Girl


• The couple must enter the highest grade of the partnership


• A Juvenile may dance with a Junior to accommodate a partnership, but must dance at the Junior Grade. This will not affect the status of the Juveniles in their own competition.

c) Adult Couples

• The age of the younger partner will determine the age group in which the couple competes.
• The couple must enter the highest grade of the partnership
• All lady couples may elect to dance in either the Medallist Couples section of their level group of the All Ladies Couples Section, or both.
• Both must be 35 years & above in the over 35 years event.

4) Syllabus Restriction

• All competitions must comply with the respective NATD syllabus.
  a) Rainbow / One Dance. National Student Preliminary Figures Only
  b) Juveniles will be restricted to Fellowship figures only.
  c) All Bronze Competitions. National Associate Figures Only
  d) All Silver Competitions. National Membership Figures Only
  e) All gold Competitions. National Fellowship Figures Only

• All remaining competitions no restrictions. Lifts, semi/acrobat variation is not permitted.

5) Video or Cine Cameras

• These may be used with the permission of the organizer.

6) Trophies and Awards

• A trophy Awards will be presented to the winners of each of medallist events, from all levels.
